Inspired by the story of Saint George. Legend says that a dragon was extorting a village for offerings of trinkets and livestock, and once they ran out, the villagers themselves. Eventually the princess was offered as tribute and while she was walking to the dragon's lair she crossed paths with George who offered to slay the dragon and save the village! The story dates back to as early as the 11th century.
